Reduce Eye Puffiness: Say Goodbye to Puffy Eyes!
Sarah Cutler, contributor
Nobody enjoys waking up to find their eyes puffed out like big marshmallows. Puffiness creates under eye bags and casts shadows that make you look like you haven't had a good night's sleep in years - even if you get plenty of sleep!
So how can you reduce eye puffiness in order to look years younger and more refreshed? Here are some simple ways to reduce your puffy eyes:
Reduce the swelling. To reduce swelling around your eyes, use a cold compress on your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. Cold cucumber slices or tea bags work great!
Prevent fluid build-up. To help prevent the build-up of fluid in your lower eyelids that occurs naturally while you sleep, try sleeping on two pillows instead of one. The higher elevation from the added pillow will help keep fluid from settling around your eyes.
Control allergy symptoms. If your eyes are puffy due to allergies, make sure you regularly take your allergy medication. If allergic to dust mites, try using a hypoallergenic pillow cover.
Practice ongoing maintenance. Use an under eye cream that helps reduce eye puffiness. There are many creams available that help counteract the build-up of fluid around the eyes. We recommend Revitol Eye Cream.
By following the steps above, you should notice less puffiness around your eyes and an improved look in your under eye area.
